Migration

It is that time of the year. The time when the young prickly creatures break away from their parents, cross the road, setting out on their own life's adventures. It is an annual occurrence, though I have been fortunate enough to catch the migration only twice in all my years of riding. Their rather distinct self-protection mechanism gives makes them a little over-confident in their travels. You may be tempted to help scoot them along their way, out of the range of passing traffic, with your foot. Better to simply watch out for them and let them be, those spines dislodge quite easily into skin, leather, and rubber.
