Fast Digs Update: Dirt Track Practice

This is another image (shared to the Calisphere by the Charles E. Young Research Library at UCLA) showing riders purported to be practicing for the 1937 Los Angeles Six Day Race at the Pan Pacific Auditorium. It gives a little more perspective on the size of the dirt tracks of the time, the surfacing, and the embankments, although I am not sure there is any reason to think there was a common standard. Notice the rather haphazard electrical posts - I thought perhaps they were for lighting, but do not see any fixtures, just transmission lines. As for the "crash" - I believe it is staged.
